The Apex Lockers integration with Prokeep allows distributors to seamlessly notify customers via SMS when an order is ready for pickup at a locker.
Integration Details
Target System: Apex Lockers
Directionality: Apex -> Prokeep -> Customer
Functionality: Sends a text message to a customer via Prokeep when an order is ready for pickup at a locker.
How It Works
Contractor Perspective:
- Objective: Receive locker notifications from the regular store line for clarity on the sender and to enable responses if needed.
- Workflow:
- The distributor places an order in an Apex locker.
- When the locker is closed, Apex sends an update to Prokeep with the order status marked as “Ready for Pickup.”
- Prokeep sends the customer an SMS containing:
- Order number
- Status message
- Locker number
- Barcode/QR code to open the locker
- The SMS thread is automatically created and closed.
- If the customer responds to the message, a new thread is created in the Prokeep inbox as usual.

Set up Instructions:
- Fill out this form here and let your Apex Support Representative know you are interested in Prokeep Messaging
- Approve the default message template.
- Default message: “Your [Account] order [Order #] is ready for pickup at our locker in [location]. Please enter # [code] or scan the barcode to retrieve your order.
- Prokeep and Apex will coordinate the turn-on and test call to ensure the integration is working correctly.
Notes
- Billing: Outbound text messages sent programmatically via our API will be billed on a monthly basis, at $0.01 per SMS and $0.03 per MMS. Customers with API usage are required to provide an electronic
- payment method to account for monthly API messaging payments
- Prerequisites:
- All Prokeep accounts must be upgraded to Prokeep Plus to utilize the Messaging API.
- Ensure the customer’s contact information includes a valid mobile number for SMS notifications
Customization: While the default workflow suffices for most users, further customization of message templates and workflows is available upon request.
